Summit Bank Opens for Business
March 8, 2004Eugene, Ore. – Summit Bank will open its doors for business tomorrow, Tuesday, March 9, at its newly renovated headquarters in downtown Eugene. Bank staff will meet and greet new customers and open accounts at Eugene/Springfield’s new community bank. The bank’s official grand opening celebration is planned for April 8.
“We are excited to open our doors to serve the local community,” says CEO Ann Marie Mehlum. “The board and staff of Summit Bank understand first hand what it’s like to run a business and we’d like to help others in the community to succeed. We look forward to talking with local business people about their individual needs and customizing a portfolio of banking products and services specifically for them.”
Mehlum and the Summit Bank board of directors, made up of eleven local business and community leaders, envisioned a locally owned bank to serve local business people, with a focus on exceptional customer service and the flexibility afforded by local decision-making. Over the last year, the organizers secured the necessary regulatory approval and raised the minimum capital requirement of $7 million from local investors.
